DISCOVER SERIFOS

Welcome to the authentic Cyclades. Enjoy the view from te he monastery of Taxiarchon (Archangels), the sandy beach of Agios Sostis and the pebbled shore of Ganema.

 

CHORA

The Amphitheater of Serifos is divided into two districts. In Ano Chora you will admire the neoclassical Town Hall and in the evening you will enjoy unique appetizers such as traditional chowder, delicious louza and raki in the magnificent taverns of the square. In the early hours, head down to scenic Kato Chora for walks in the whitewashed alleys and a visit to the Folklore and Archaeological Museum with impressive finds.

THE THRONE OF CYCLOPS

On the cliff of Cyclopa, about 11km from Chora, with stunning panoramic view, stands a huge, impressive building made of blocks, the Throne of Cyclops or Psaropyrgos. Next to it, you’ll find the entrance of a stoa (cave), which is said to be the cave of Cyclops Polyphemos, which unfortunately is not accessible.

MONASTERY OF TAXIARCHES

Built in the 16th century, on the northeastern part of the island, the Monastery of Taxiarches resembles a castle. With its high walls and lofts, it is the most important monastery on the island and offers a unique view of the sea from the porter's porch.

AGIOS SOSTIS BEACH

At 7 km from Chora is the stunning double beach of Agios Sostis, with sand and crystal clear sea and a picturesque chapel. The two quiet coves protect against the air, depending on its direction.

GANEMA BEACH

The largest beach on the island, the beautiful Ganema. On the east side, where there is space for parking, the beach is sandy. Moving towards the west side ad you’ll find thick pebbles. Whichever you choose, the sea is crystal clear, and there is a fish tavern next to the coast.
